Keshi slams Saintfiet

Abuja – Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has hit back at his Malawian counterpart Tom Saintfiet for requesting that the venue of their upcoming World Cup qualifying game be moves from Calabar.

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) wrote to Fifa last week requesting a change in venue for the game. This after Saintfiet told local media that he was not comfortable with Calabar, labelling the tourist city a “security risk.”

Keshi reacted angrily to the Sanitfiet’s comments, insisting he lacks the capacity to decide for Nigeria where to host the game and that the scheduled venue will remain unchanged.

“This is where we play our games and other countries are fine with that, someone cannot say to Nigeria to take the game elsewhere because he feels too important,” Keshi fumed in an interview with BBC Sports.
