Obama said in a written statement Thursday that the United States stands with the United Kingdom”against violent extremism and terror.” He said two countries’ special relationship is especially important in times of trial.
Obama said: “There can be absolutely no justification for such acts” and offered prayers for the victim’s family and the British people.
The president said he is looking forward to visiting the United Kingdom next month for an economic summit in Northern Ireland, where world leaders plan to talk about global security challenges.
