When they opened their new southern-food dining spot four months ago, Ottawa restaurateurs Matt Fantin, Ivan Gedz and Chris Lord thought that by calling it Union Local 613, everyone would feel welcome. But then ServiceOntario, which regulates such things, informed them that name had to go since it could mislead people into thinking it was actually a union. Within days, Mr. Fantin told reporter Christopher Guly, the government got a healthy serving of power to the people:

Last Friday, we got a letter from the provincial government stating that our name was being revoked because it could be misleading as to the true nature of our business. But we’ve had the name for a year now.
